Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Oct. 23rd

On Tuesday's show, Cramer began by analyzing another stock that has been put on sale after Friday's drop in the market. Shaw Group (SGR) had the best earnings of the quarter so far. Cramer thinks this is time to back up the truck and load up on the stock. Cramer still likes infrastructure plays like Shaw, and the earnings make it even more attractive.
Cramer then went to the phonelines. The first caller asked about Aecom (ACM), which Cramer recommended a couple of weeks ago. Cramer said it is still one of his favorites. The next caller asked about uranium prices, which Cramer attributed to production problems, and recommended Mosaic (MOS) as a good uranium play.
Next, Cramer discussed another pick he made based on the book "Microtrends," which Cramer has been plugging for about the past week. He found that the number of people working from home is increasing, which he thinks will be profitable for Cisco (CSCO), since its products will be needed to connect people to the office, including offerings from some companies they have bought out over the past few years.
Another caller asked about the tech sector in general, and Cramer said that he is the only person bullish on tech. The next caller asked why Cramer likes Cisco, and Cramer said he thinks it will be up consistently 15% a year.
Am I Diversified?
first caller asked about five stocks: Amgen (AMGN), Under Armour (UA), PetSmart (PETM), Goldman Sachs (GS) and EMC (EMC), the latter two of which Cramer owns for his charitable trust, Action Alerts PLUS. Cramer said, "That is definite, definite diversification." The second caller named these five plays: IBM (IBM), Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY), Pfizer (PFE), Disney (DIS) Citigroup (C), which Cramer also owns for his charitable trust.
Mad Mail: The first email thanked Cramer for the show he did on October 19, where he gave his 5 rules for investing. The writer thinks that those tips will save him money in the future. The next email asked why Cramer didn't talk about Dry Ships (DRY) when he did his dry bulk shippers segment. Cramer said that it has gone up so much that he had to pass on it. The next writer invited Cramer to his daughter's Bat Mitzvah because the profits from his stock picks are paying for it, and the last email asked what to do with some Hershey (HSY) stock they own, and Cramer said to sell it any time the stock goes up.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Oct. 11th

Amgen (AMGN), Celgene (CELG): Cramer is nervous that Amgen's management hasn't been saying more about the company's pipeline, even though the risk is 3 points and the reward is 7 points. He comments that Celgene also has significant upside potential.
J.P Morgan (JPM), Caterpillar (CAT), Deere (DE): Cramer would stay away from JP Morgan because of potential writedowns, and prefers CAT, in spite of the fact that Deere has upstaged CAT lately.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Review

Fallen Angel: VF. Corp (NYSE: VFC - News)
Cramer discussed "fallen angels" or stocks which deserve to trade at a higher multiple, but are down because of the market's stupidity. Cramer appaluds VFC's move in selling its "horrible" intimate apparel business which had "razor-thin margins" in order to let its more successful businesses thrive. However, investors did not hear this good news and instead paid too much attention to the company's disappointment with its fourth quarter and consequently "threw it down the pit." The stock dropped 7%, but Cramer predicts that it will miss its quarter by a mere three cents, and it should return to where it was and go higher after it reports on February 6.
Bad Press for Amgen (NasdaqGS: AMGN)
Cramer's second fallen angel, Amgen, was the victim of a negative headline which alleged that its Aranesp drug was potentially fatal when the patients who died were not expected to recover, regardless of the medicine. Low guidance was another factor in the stock's slip, but Cramer says that AMGN historically is conservative with guidance and expects to see an upside surprise. In addition, he notes that the company has drugs for osteoperosis and colon cancer in the pipeline.

Oxford Blues: Quest Diagnostic (NYSE: DGX - News), United Health (NYSE: UNH - News)
Cramer's third fallen angel is DGX, which fell apparently on the news of its split with Oxford Health, but Cramer believes that this factor was already built into the price. Cramer would buy DGX now, since it reported a good quarter and is cheap because of its low guidance. Although DGX thinks it will lose UNH, since UNH owns Oxford, Cramer does not believe this will happen and suspects DGX of low-balling, and predicts lackluster expectations will cause the stock to soar.CEO Interview, Peter van Stolk, Jones' Soda (JDSA)
Cramer asked Peter van Stolk if Jones' increase should continue now that its exclusive soda contract with Target has expired. While van Stolk commented that Target is a great retailer and that he expects to continue working with them, new opportunities should cause the stock to ramp. One of Jones' major selling points is that it uses pure cane sugar rather than corn syrup."Corn is for cars, and sugar is for sodas," he quipped. Since Jones has had a "monster move," Cramer would wait for it to come down a bit before buying.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Jan. 24

Bullish calls:
Boeing (BA): ' ... it's two thumbs up, way up. That Wachovia guy who downgraded BA - he is going to be so massively wrong, it is frightening... 'Transocean (RIG): ' We like RIG.'Halliburton (HAL): ' ... yes, I'll stick my neck out once again, that HAL will be good.'NYSE (NYX): 'There's a story out there ... It says that there's going to be a massive lockup expiration, where everybody can sell 20 million shares. All the bears are keying on that ... my canvas of the stock tells me that none of the big holders is going to sell that stock. That's why NYX - which is my growth stock of the year - is headed to nothing short of $200!'Hain Celestial (HAIN): 'I would recommend HAIN as best of breed.'Level 3 Communications (LVLT): 'I say you should not be worried. This stock has had a miraculous run. But, it just again cleaned up its balance sheet even more by offering stock. This is one of my growth stocks that are speculative for the year. I reiterate my buy and, if it ever goes below $6, obviously you back up the truck!'Schering-Plough (SGP): 'I would vastly prefer SGP or JNJ [to PFE].'Johnson & Johnson (JNJ)Amgen (AMGN): 'I like AMGN and I like DNA for a little bit of growth.'Genentech (DNA)American Ecology (ECOL): ' ... look at ECOL.'Unilever (UN): 'I've been watching this stock creep up, and I keep saying to myself, 'Why didn't I recommend it? I knew that a turnaround was in place . I have missed UN. My bad. Is it too late to get in? No. Buy, buy, buy!'Diageo (DEO)Rackable Systems (RACK): 'I think it's way overdone to the downside ... I think you wait until the summer, you'll catch a bounce ... you stick with RACK. I don't want to go away from it.'eBay (EBAY)USG (USG): 'The only in-housing play that I've been recommending consistently is USG... I came back and said that stock is going higher. Swap out of yours and go into USG!'
Bearish calls:
Valero Energy (VLO): ' ... don't think VLO's going to do much. It's up 3 bucks, down 3 bucks... I'd like you to take the trade off though. I just don't think that, with oil and gas this low, that you really want to trifle with any of these things to buy on the way down, so let's ix-nay that trade when it comes in a little, and let's play on the long side.'SunOpta (STKL): 'We're swapping out of STKL and we're going into HAIN... 'Georgia Gulf (GGC): 'The only in-housing play that I've been recommending consistently is... Swap out of yours and go into USG!'Pfizer (PFE): 'You've got what I call dead money ... Keep selling PFE. It's just like owning a bond, but a little less exciting.'Republic Services (RSG): ' ... when we buy a company at twice its growth rate, in terms of a P/E, it's been catastrophic for us. So I want you to sell that one - sell, sell, sell.'

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Jan. 22

Bullish calls:
Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD - News): 'One of the known communists on Wall Street downgraded RAD last week... I reiterate - at $5.80, RAD remains one of my favorite speculations. Take that bears!'China Mobile (NYSE: CHL - News): 'If you want to go to China, and you want to do phone, you've got to do CHL. I would actually recommend you swap out of CHU and go into CHL. Even as CHL is at its 52-week high, I think that's a better buy.'Genentech (NYSE: DNA - News): 'If we want to be in pharma, we're going to be in DNA, or we're going to be in AMGN, and CELG!... 'Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN - News)Celgene (NASDAQ: CELG - News)Flir Systems (NASDAQ: FLIR - News)Nice Systems (NASDAQ: NICE - News): ' If you want to be in defense, remember, we like FLIR or NICE, because we like homeland security!'Google (NASDAQ: GOOG - News): 'I think that's one of the few techs that I want to own. My friend, Anthony Notto, at Goldman Sachs, recently raised estimates ... I think the stock will get to $600.'Melco PBL Entertainment (NASDAQ: MPEL - News): 'People are starting to doubt me on that call... We're fine. (buzzer rings)... MPEL is not as good as LVS, and not as good as WYNN, but it should be bought here.'SkyWest (NASDAQ: SKYW - News): 'You know that I'm a liker of the airlines, but let's be careful. After the close of the market, AMR announced an offering of 13 million shares. That's going to cause some pressure in the group. SKYW should trade down a dollar on that, and then you could pull the trigger and buy more, but don't overstay your welcome.'Under Armour (NYSE: UA - News): 'Some publication... had this really negative article ... If you don't know Kevin Plank, then you don't know one of the best CEOs in America. I think UA is in a major bull-market mode. I think the shorts planted that story ... I like UA and I want you to stay with it.'
Bearish calls:
China Unicom (NYSE: CHU - News): 'No. No. I'm not a fan of CHU ... I would actually recommend you swap out of CHU and go into CHL.'Flextronics International (NASDAQ: FLEX - News): 'Maybe you're shorting it, because you're not going to make any money being long that. You need to be out of the contract manufacturing ... this is a bearish group!'Nektar Therapeutics (NASDAQ: NKTR - News): ' ... What is that, the 470th restructuring they announced today? Most of their restructuring just involves firing people... Heaven forbid they actually try to improve the company... No, we don't want to be anywhere near NKTR.'Pfizer (NYSE: PFE - News): ' ... another bear.'Force Protection (NASDAQ: FRPT - News): ' ... not for me. 'Imergent (AMEX: IIG - News): ' Electronic services to small businesses... to me, it's the definition of tech (bear sound)... No! This is a stock that is too darn hard. Sell, sell, sell!'

Jim Cramer's Wall Street Confidential- Jan. 8th

Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM - News), ConcoPhillips (NYSE: COP - News) and Chevron (NYSE: CVX - News)
Although oil stocks moved up on Friday, Cramer does not trust the sector, and commented that people knew that oil stock prices were ahead of the price of oil, and when they held these stocks up, they cratered. He noted that when oil prices were this high before, XOM was in the $60s and now it is in the low $70s. Cramer admitted that he was "blindsided" by COP which reported low margins after saying "a lot of really good things" at a meeting a few weeks ago. However, he still thinks COP is a buy because the company is "committed" to its stock, and would also recommed Chevron for its dividend.
