Jim Cramer's Stop Trading April 11

He said that lender CIT (CIT) is "definitely negative" on GE's earnings report.
Cramer disclosed that he owns GE stock but still wants to try to make money off the company's quarter.
On Intel (INTC) and the rest of the tech sector, Cramer said that "People are saying, 'Oh [tech stocks are] not going down a lot, so maybe I'll recommend them.' You cannot buy tech in the month of April expecting that you can handle the next two quarters," he said. "Tech is just wrong here."
Cramer called Intel "dead money." However, he did note that "AMD (AMD) is so bad that if I were a customer of AMD I would be calling Intel and saying I need a backup supplier."
Tech is largely a play on GDP growth, which is wrong for this environment, Cramer said. "You can't hide in tech. You can hide in Procter (PG), you can hide in Coke (KO), you can hide in Pepsi (PEP), but you cannot hide in tech."
Cramer was also bearish on Google (GOOG). "I don't know, when you have Microsoft (MSFT) and Yahoo! (YHOO) and News Corp. (NWS) and they've all decided they want to end the dominance of Google." He also decried Google's "hiring binge," saying, "That's just not a business model. ... AMR (AMR) not being able to fly is probably hurting their hiring binge," he said. "That's Google's strategy right now. That's not how you make money."

Jim Cramer's Wall Street Confidential Oct. 23rd

Google (GOOG), IBM (IBM), Microsoft(MSFT), Intel (INTC)
While consumer weakness is hurting retail, people are still buying tech, said Cramer, explaining the sector is product-cycle driven; "The product cycle remains the Google -led product cycle, meaning that Google has become so important that people want to have fast taking of Google, fast downloading of Google, fast downloading of YouTube," Cramer said. IBM is the exception because "IBM identified its end-client basis." The success of Microsoft's Vista will extend from back-to-school to the holidays and maybe beyond. Cramer expressed annoyance at shorts who erroneously spread rumors about Intel's alleged double orders, and then refused to admit their mistake; "When I make a mistake ... I say I made that mistake," he said.

Jim Cramer's Wall Street Confidential Oct. 17th

Intel (INTC)
Those shorting Intel were taken in by a Wall Street Journal article which indicated there was double ordering of the company's chips. Shorts who believed there would be an inventory problem for Intel got a nasty surprise; "When you go into the fourth quarter with lean inventories, and these were the leanest inventories in years," said Cramer, " that means you're going to see average selling price not come down, maybe even lift a little."
Shorts were confused because, "A lot of people don't understand the nature between the media and what happens," Cramer said. "It's really remarkable how powerful the press is, particularly when it's emphasizing a negative story right at the time when a really positive story comes."
Cramer predicts a January surprise since inventory is low, revenue guidance is higher and gross margins are increasing. "This was a beautiful Intel quarter, just a beautiful one," he said and added the stock is a "screaming buy" anywhere below $27, and will go to $30.

Semiconductors Fall

Memory chip maker Micron Technology Inc. was among the biggest decliners Wednesday on what was a mostly down day for semiconductor stocks, due mainly to worries over a tough pricing environment.
After posting slightly better-than-expected results for its fiscal fourth quarter, Micron issued what one analyst called "subdued" guidance on a challenging pricing environment.
Lehman Brothers analyst Tim Luke kept an "Equal Weight" rating on Micron.
With "memory pricing likely to trend lower over the near term, as spot pricing is still significantly below contract price levels, our low-end estimates are unchanged," Luke wrote in a client note.
Shares fell $1.03, or 8.7 percent, to $10.76 in early afternoon trading. The stock, which is down about 3 percent month-to-date, has traded in the 52-week range of $10.30 to $18.17.
Shares of industry leader Intel Corp. fell 53 cents, or 2 percent, to $25.85. The stock has traded between 18.75 and $27.71 in the past year.
Morgan Stanley analyst Mark Lipacis started coverage of Intel with an "Underweight" rating.
"We recommend that investors reduce positions in Intel ahead of what we expect will be an inventory correction and increasingly aggressive price environment," Lipacis wrote. The analyst also recommended that investors lower their positions in Advanced Micro Devices Inc. for the same reasons.
AMD's shares fell 29 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $12.91.
Qualcomm Inc., which is being investigated by European Union antitrust regulators for possible abusive business practices, was among the handful of stocks heading higher. The company makes mobile phone chips. Its shares rose 34 cents to $42.32.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor Sector index fell 9.75 points, or 1.93 percent, to 496.22.

Intel (INTC) Raises Outlook by $200 Million

It was supposed to be Advanced Micro Devices Inc.'s day Monday with the launch of its highly touted new server chip, but Intel Corp. swooped in and stole some of the headlines from its smaller rival with a boosted financial forecast.
Still, financially struggling AMD managed to have a good day on Wall Street after announcing the newest version of its Opteron server chip -- while Intel's news elicited a ho-hum reaction from investors.
Intel surprised Wall Street with a mid-quarter financial update -- a practice the company discontinued last year.
Intel added $200 million to the top of its financial outlook, saying it now expects sales of $9.4 billion to $9.8 billion in the current quarter. That compares with the previous forecast of $9.0 billion to $9.6 billion.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial had expected revenue of $9.4 billion. Analysts said the announcement is good news for the microprocessor market, as it indicates higher demand -- which also likely is benefiting AMD.
Still, analysts said Intel's release also had the appearance of trying to slow some of the momentum surrounding the launch of AMD's newest chip. Intel shares slipped 12 cents on the news, to $25.35.

He also would buy TXN which has "the most aggressive buyback on the NYSE," and would pick up other quality tech names such as GOOG, CSCO, INTC, RIMM and EMC.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Aug. 9th

Safer than Houses: Intel (NasdaqGS: INTC - News), Texas Instruments (NYSE: TXN - News), Cisco Systems (NasdaqGS: CSCO - News), and Microsoft (NasdaqGS: MSFT - News), Advanced MicroDevices (NYSE: AMD - News)
Often people run from tech during a selloff, but Cramer notes tech is now the safe sector with significant upside potential, since these companies have enough cash to make huge buybacks. Cramer proclaims he is once again an "Intel-aholic" as he was in the 90s, because the stock is cheap, has loads of cash and an accelerating growth rate. Compared with AMD, Cramer says Intel is "the much stonger part of the duopoly" and has a lower price tag.
The Rant Heard Round the World
While some think Cramer's rant against the Fed last Friday was overdone, Cramer believes he was "the most responsible guy out there. He added, " The AAA-rated mortgage bonds are trading horribly or not at all. These are good pieces of paper, yet they've been marked down," Cramer said. He says has no idea why Ben Bernanke is still worried about inflation, and observed that the Europeans are concerned about the ripple effect of the US mortgage crisis. "My rant was the rant heard around the world," Cramer said, "The only one who hasn't heard it is Chairman Bernanke himself."
Mad Money Madness Index: MGIC (NYSE: MTG - News), MBIA (NYSE: MBI - News), KB Home (NYSE: KBH - News), Blackstone (NYSE: BX - News), Centex (NYSE: CTX - News), Beazer Homes (NYSE: BZH - News), Washington Mutual (NYSE: WM - News)
Cramer says those who have not sold the stock in his Mad Money Madness Index are being hoggish; "Greed is not good ... The market makes you pay for it."
CEO Interview: Dr. Eli Harari, Sandisk (NasdaqGS: SNDK - News)
Cramer thinks SNDK will rise next week if there is a day that is not "horrible," and he likes the company because flash memory is "hot," will replace disk drives and is the favorite of companies like Apple. He said Dr. Eli Harari's bullish remarks at a recent Flash Memory Summit reminds him of Cisco CEO John Chamber's fully justified optimism. Dr. Harari commented flash is everywhere, is contributing to market acceleration and is much cheaper than it used to be. "There's no question that flash memory today is the fastest-growing market within the semiconductor market," Dr. Harari said. "And I do not see it ending anytime soon."

I would buy that stock right here!'Schering-Plough (NYSE: SGP - News): 'You know I like SGP.'AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM - News): 'its a big play off that horrible tragedy of the bridge collapsing ... remember, these stocks are not going to go up again tomorrow... So, if you have a very quick gain, c'mon... '
Bearish calls:
Starbucks (NasdaqGS: SBUX - News): 'I do like the fact that SBUX put through that price increase, but their same-store sales are anemic... They don't have great growth, but they have a great growth multiple ... I'm putting SBUX in the 'don't buy' camp. But, if it goes to $23-24, it will finally be cheap, and then we'll do some buying.'Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA - News): 'No, no! Too much bad stuff going on! Sell, sell, sell! Jim Cramer's Wall Street Confidential July 17th

Novellus Systems (NasdaqGS: NVLS - News), Motorola (NYSE: MOT - News), Intel (NasdaqGS: INTC - News), EMC (NYSE: EMC - News), Microsoft (NasdaqGS: MSFT - News)Cramer would buy Novellus, which guided down its earnings, revenues and orders and still rose 10%. The stock is even up after missing its estimates, which demonstrates the health of the tech sector, according to Cramer. Similarly, Motorola is back up after reporting a disastrous quarter. He predicted Intel will reach $30 and investors will be safe to buy half their positions now "because you're immunized. I expect it will be contained either at the $25 strike or the $27.50 strike." Other great tech names are EMC, which is a buy at $19 ahead of VMware's IPO, MSFT, whose performance is sluggish but will still see $32. "This group is like oil was a year ago," Cramer said. "You just can't stop buying it."

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap July 13th

Next Week's Game Plan: Coke (NYSE: KO - News), Intel (NasdaqGS: INTC - News), United Technologies (NYSE: UTX - News), Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold (NYSE: FCX - News), Honeywell (NYSE: HON - News), Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI - News), Caterpillar (NYSE: CAT - News), Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB - News), Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER - News), Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC - News), JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM - News), Bank of America (NYSE: BAC - News) and Citigroup (NYSE: C - News)
Cramer expects better-than-expected earnings from the following companies, and would buy before their reports next week: KO, INTC, UTX, FCX, HON, JCI, CAT and SLB. Since banks are "on a mission to show that there is no slowdown" and are likely to raise their dividends and buy back stock, Cramer would buy MER, WFC, JPM, BAC and C prior to their earnings reports.
That 80s Show: Boeing (NYSE: BA - News), Caterpillar (NYSE: CAT - News), ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP - News), Energizer (NYSE: ENR - News), Air Products & Chemicals (NYSE: APD - News), Apache (NYSE: APA - News), Terex (NYSE: TEX - News)
"I've discovered alchemy," declared Cramer, noting the six stocks (BA, CAT, COP, ENR, APD and APA) he has discussed this week in connection with his theory (that stocks at $80 go to $100 and then to $120) are up an average of 5.2%. On Friday, Cramer added TEX to the list, since it is around $80 and will benefit from the "wild bull market" of infrastructure and machinery. He doesn't regard CAT as a rival, since "Terex's bread and butter is in aerial work platforms" which are not produced by CAT. He is not worried about competition from Manitowoc in the crane business.
Incredibly Risky Play: GeoEye (NasdaqGM: GEOY - News)
Cramer recommended GEOY as an "incredibly risky play" which is not for IRA money, but could have a major upside. Although it is the biggest commerical satellite company, GEOY has yet to make a profit. However, Cramer thinks outsourcing demands and Google Earth might make this company profitable, not to mention its main competitor is not a publicly traded stock. According to Cramer, the stock could double on the successful commission of a new satellite. However, the date has been deferred once, and if the satellite does not go up when expected, GEOY "could get hammered." While he urges caution, Cramer says GEOY is a great speculative stock.
Mad Mail: Taser (NasdaqGS: TASR - News), Excel Maritime Carriers (NYSE: EXM - News)
Concerning Taser, Cramer says the shorts are "enfilading fire" and "the longs are winning." He changed his position on EXM, and regretted having been too bearish.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap May 23

Six More Dow Stocks: 3M (NYSE: MMM - News), General Motors (NYSE: GM - News), Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ - News), Home Depot (NYSE: HD - News), Honeywell (NYSE: HON - News), Intel (NasdaqGS: INTC)
Cramer continued his coverage of 30 Dow stocks with MMM, which is up 11%, although Cramer thinks its buyback and dividend increase are already priced in the stock, and he doesn't see sufficient upside to justify buying. Cramer has not been bullish on GM since the resignation of Jerry York from the board, but recommends GM's bond which has a nice percentage return. HPQ is "about to take off" and although it reported a "really great" quarter, it hasn't gone up yet. Cramer says HPQ is the only tech stock worth owning for the duration of the summer. Admitting he was wrong in his prediction of an interest rate cut from the Fed, Cramer says there is not a strong incentive to own HD, and would buy Sears instead. Honeywell is four points ahead of target, and while Cramer thinks it could go to $63, the stock would be too pricey. Intel's preformance has been disappointing, its price war with Advanced Micro Devices has been "bitter," and it shouldn't rise much higher than $24, Cramer said.
In the Beginning: Genesis Lease (NYSE: GLS - News)
After listening to AIG's earnings call, Cramer became aware of the "hot" business of leasing airplanes. The demand for aircraft currently outstrips supply, and Boeing can't produce planes quickly enough. GLS is a pure play on aircraft finance and is a way to benefit from the health of the industry "while keeping airlines at arm's length." The company is strong internationally, has a great cash flow and a solid dividend.
CEO Interview: Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech (NasdaqGS: TTEK)
Dan Batrack says the water resource management and infrastructure company has a strong pipeline and is at an all-time high. Backlog has surpassed revenue for five straight quarters, and the company is also involved in wind and nuclear energy, areas where demand exceeds supply. Cramer says he likes TTEK and notes its government contracts.

Dow Closes Higher on Bernanke Speech

Wall Street eked out a modest advance Tuesday after investors found little motivation in remarks by Federal Reserve officials and also shrugged off a warning from chip maker National Semiconductor Inc.
Major indexes squeaked by with gains after spending most of the session extending Monday's losses. Investors have been left looking for direction after the Fed held interest rates steady last week, and as corporate earnings season winds down.
Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke did not address interest rates when he spoke before the Omaha Chamber of Commerce. Similarly, speeches by two other central bankers and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson also had little news to sway investors.
National Semi warned that sales will fall steeper than expected; the news initially cast a shadow across the market, but by the close of trading, even the tech-dominated Nasdaq composite index had recovered.
"I get the sense investors are waiting to see what the market is going to do next, and aren't entirely convinced that a slight pullback is going to manifest itself," said Mike Malone, trading analyst at Cowen & Co. "There really wasn't any expectation that something would come from Bernanke. But the fact its over leaves investors looking around for what's next."
According to preliminary calculations, the Dow rose 4.57, or 0.04 percent, to 12,666.31.
Broader stock indicators finished narrowly higher. The Standard & Poor's 500 index added 1.01, or 0.07 percent, to 1,448.00, and the Nasdaq rose 0.89, or 0.04 percent, to 2,471.49.
Stocks got some support from a decline in bond yields as fixed-income investors place bets on where interest rates are headed. The bond market had hoped to glean more from speeches by Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson.
The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell to 4.77 percent from 4.81 percent late Monday. The dollar was lower against other major currencies, while gold prices advanced.
Oil prices continued to climb on concerns that a blast of arctic weather in the Midwest and Northeast might linger, and drive up demand for heating fuel. A barrel of light sweet crude rose 14 cents to $58.88 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
A jump in demand could lead to higher energy costs, but also greater profits for energy producers. However, any benefit to big oil companies was offset by disappointing results from BP PLC.
Britain's biggest refiner fell 54 cents to $63.25 after reporting fourth-quarter profit slipped 22 percent, and slashed its growth targets for this year. Anadarko Petroleum Corp. shares fell 48 cents to $42.47 after it said fourth-quarter profit doubled due to a one-time gain on the sale of a Canadian unit.
Exxon Mobil Corp., a component of the Dow Jones industrials, fell 21 cents to $75.46, while Chevron Corp. shed 41 cents to $73.37.
Matt Kelmon, portfolio manager of the Kelmoore Strategy Funds, said investors will be looking at further fluctuations in the energy sector as one way the market might pick a direction. He also said there will be continued scrutiny over corporate earnings, although many major companies have already reported.
"The market is not expensive, it's not dirt cheap, and the catalyst over the past few weeks has been earnings," he said. "Everything is really on hold until the market finds something else to talk about, but there's still no huge sign of an imminent pullback."
Technology stocks were among the market's biggest decliners, led by the semiconductor sector. National Semi fell 64 cents, or 2.8 percent, to $22.68 after it predicted lower-than-expected sales in the third quarter because of lower shipments to the Asia Pacific region.
Rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. fell 28 cents to $15.32, while Texas Instruments Inc. shed 37 cents to $31.22. Intel Corp., the worlds largest chip maker for personal computers, rose 3 cents to $21.31.
In other corporate news, Avon Products Inc. rose $3.38, or 9.8 percent, to $38 after the maker of beauty products said its fourth-quarter profit edged up from a year ago as the company struggled with restructuring costs.
McClatchy Co., the nation's second-largest newspaper publisher, rose 53 cents to $39.29 after its operating earnings surpassed Wall Street projections.
Las Vegas Sands Corp. fell $3.41, or 3.3 percent to $100.68 after the casino company reported fourth-quarter profit was boosted by an unexpected $30 million gain from its high-rollers table. Advancing issues outnumbered advancers by about 2 to 1 on the New York Stock Exchange, where volume came to 1.47 billion shares.
The Russell 2000 index of smaller companies rose 3.34, or 0.41 percent, to 810.03. The index surpassed 800 for the first time last week, and reached an all-time high of 810.49 in the previous session.
Overseas, Japan's Nikkei stock average closed up 0.36 percent. At the close, Britain's FTSE 100 was up 0.45 percent, Germany's DAX index added 0.02 percent, and France's CAC-40 fell 0.08 percent.
