Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Feb. 11th

Altria (MO), Bank of America (BAC), Chevron (CVX), Honeywell (HON), Conco-Phillips (COP), Freeport-McMoran (FCX), Schlumberger (SLB), American International Group (AIG), Pfizer (PFE), Cisco (CSCO)
Cramer was disappointed with Dow Jones' facelift which involved getting rid of Altria, and Honeywell, and adding Bank of America and Chevron. Three economic themes Cramer thinks should have been expressed in the Index changes are the growing importance of natural resources, the dwindling power of the financial sector and international growth. None of these themes were reflected in today's choices, Cramer commented. He said a financial should have been removed rather than added to the Dow, COP would have been a better choice than CVX, and would have considered including FCX or SLB in addition to keeping HON. He would have dropped AIG which is a travesty masquerading as an insurance company whose CEO, Martin Sullivan, was recently added to Cramer's Wall of Shame. He would also give Pfizer the pink slip, and would consider adding CSCO, since it is diversified.
Raytheon (RTN)
In spite of Goldman's Sachs note of Early indications of slowing growth in defense spending..., the military budget keeps growing; President Bush is asking for a $515 million for 2009 which is a 7.5% increase. Cramer likes RTN in this space because it has strong international sales, and is up 25% since Goldman's downgrade last March, but he would wait for a pullback before buying.
McDonald's (MCD), Darden (DRI)
One month of data does not justify a bearish position on a restaurant stock, said Cramer, noting McDonald's $6 rise since Bear Stearns hastily downgraded the stock for weak December same store sales (January same store sales increases 5.7%) An even faster kneejerk (or, rather, prejerk) occurred when Darden was downgraded only a few minutes before its better-than-expected guidance was released. The moral of the story, according to Cramer, is that when analysts unfairly downgrade stock on scant data, it is time to buy. Cramer would buy MCD now even though it has risen a bit.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Review Dec. 10th

Triple-S Management (GTS)
True success stories on The Street may be harder to find these days, but Cramer has observed the progress of non-profit Blue Cross Blue Shield companies that turn into public for-profit companies and found in their first four years the stocks had increased an average of 28%. He would consider Triple-S Management (GTS) which went public last week and has yet to set the sector on fire, since it opened only 16 cents above its $14.50 and undershot its projected range of $16-$18. Cramer said the companies contracts will become profitable and warned investors to do homework before buying and to use limit orders.
CEO Interview: Jack Cumming Hologic (HOLX)
Cramer likes HOLX for its visibility, growth and clean balance sheet and asked Jack Cumming about the merger with Cytic which was closed on Oct 22 and is running ahead of schedule. Cumming discussed the company's $1.3 billion convertible bond offering as a strategy to eliminate debt. Concerning competitors, He noted HOLX entered the scene two years behind its main rivals and is nine months ahead on the race for digital mammography. "We believe that when you have nine No 1. products, you're expected to grow at a fantastic rate," Cumming said.
Live with Regis' Portfolio: JDS Uniphase (JDSU), Time Warner (TWX), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), LSI Logic (LSI), Unisys (UIS), Freeport-McMoRan (FCX), McDonald's (MCD), CVS Caremark (CVS), Oceaneering (OII), Transocean (RIG), Chevron (CVX)
Regis told viewers not to worry about holiday retail sales, since people are lining up outside stores, and Cramer reviewed Regis' portfolio. First, he told Regis he missed the ideal opportunity to sell Time Warner, which rose recently, and would sell it now. He also told Regis to sell AMD, since the company is having trouble with its next chip and has Hector Ruiz at the helm. The ticker JDSU stands for "just don't sue us," said Cramer and he told Regis to sell. He gave LSI a "tepid buy" and added "it has a shot at coming back," but Cramer told Regis Unisys was one big "house of pain." Cramer suggested Regis replace these names with FCS, MCD, CVS, OII, RIG and CVX.
Teledyne Technologies (TDY), Ansys (ANSS)
Cramer says TDY and ANSS are two "Upod artists" that overpromise and underdeliver; "Upod works because the bedrock predictor is the trumping of earnings estimates," he said. TDY is tapped into aerospace and oil, has exceeded estimates an average of 15% per quarter, has made smart acquisitions and is cheap, but Cramer would wait for it to dip before buying. Ansys is the "market leader" in simulation and software, has strong overseas exposure, 68% return business and has exceeded estimates 40 consecutive times. The stock may seem expensive, but it is growing at an impressive 19% and should be trading at a higher multiple.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Nov. 14th

Cramer began Wednesday's show talking about Wal-Mart's (WMT) good quarter and investment ideas from its conference call. Cramer remarked how well GameStop will do during the holidays and how other consumer electronics will continue to be strong. Cramer disagrees on digital cameras because they're made in China making them hard to buy right now. He does not like Garmin (GRMN) either. In computers, Cramer supports Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), which Wal-Mart is not a big carrier of. They do sell Dell but Cramer prefers HP. He mentioned Activision as a possible investment for video games, but prefers GameStop.
TV's: Cramer considered Corning (GLW), who are involved in liquid crystal display televisions. It is not trading as high as it should be, but has a raised outlook in pricing. It has bendable fiber not priced in the stock and is heading much higher.
Am I Diversified? The first caller had Sirius Satellite Radio (SIRI), Ford (F), AT&T (T), McDonald's (MCD) and Human Genome Sciences (HGSI). Cramer called HGSI too speculative and said he'd rather see the caller in a stock like Celgene (CELG) instead.Another caller held Daimler (DAI), Coca-Cola (KO), Google (GOOG), Celgene and CVRD (RIO). Cramer blessed the portfolio. The final caller asked if he was diversified with Apple (AAPL), Occidental Petroleum (OXY), MetLife (MET), Cisco (CSCO) and Yum! Brands (YUM). Cramer suggested the caller swap out of MetLife and into Prudential (PRU).
Tetra Tech (TTEK) CEO Dan Batrack joined Cramer on the show, where he said his company beat fourth-quarter expectations due to increased margins. He said they had a great performance on earnings.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Nov. 9th

On Friday, Cramer started the show by saying that this is the week that people gave up on technology, retail, and banking. Cramer said that despite this, he thinks that there are still chances to make you money. Cramer then went into his Game Plan for next week. Cramer discussed McDonald's (MCD) because they have an analysts meeting on Tuesday, and Cramer thinks you should get in before then. The company delivers consistent international growth and can maintain in the U.S. even if a recession hits. Then Cramer went to the phonelines. The first caller asked about Halliburton (HAL), and Cramer said that they will have a great year next year, and he wants you to buy it between $36 and $38. The next caller asked about Skechers (SKX), and Cramer said he doesn't understand why this stock is going down, and he thinks good stocks are being beaten up with the bad.Cramer then had an interview with presidential candidate Chris Dodd, where they talked about Dodd's plans for his campaign and how some of his policies would affect investors. After the lightning round, Cramer had the CEO of Foster Wheeler (FWLT) on the show to talk about why the stock will continue to rise. Their customers are building larger and larger projects, and he thinks the market is very, very strong for their services.Mad Mail: Cramer told the first writer to take profits when they are up big so weeks like this one don't hurt as much. The next email asked if Cramer is sure that Under Armour (UA) is finished, and Cramer said he thinks they are. After that they then showed the highlights of the week, and wrapped up the show.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Sept. 25th

Cramer started off by saying that it's important to buy stocks that will bounce back the hardest.
CBRL Group (CBRL): operator of the iconic Cracker Barrel restaurant chain. Cramer believes that the company is in a good position after revamping their menus and buying back a ton of stock. They had the biggest buyback in percentage of shares outstanding of any company at 54% over the past year. Cramer is crazy about the buyback.
He then took a couple of calls: One caller asked about Brinker International (EAT), which Cramer doesn't like at all. Another caller asked about Wendy's (WEN) and Cramer said don't even look at Wendy's. He suggested that he get in McDonald's (MCD) instead because it is best of breed.
Yesterday, Cramer discussed how Best Buy is leveraging their growth by expanding international. Tuesday he discussed Textron Inc. (TXT). He feels that its Cessna unit will have large worldwide demand in the upcoming years. Honeywell (HON), a company that has been very successful at forecasting the aircraft business, predicts record sales of business jets, Cessna's "bread and butter." Cramer said the rest of the world will soon surpass America in business jet sales, which makes Textron a solid business-jet play.
Before Cramer started the Lightning Round, he recommended that holders of Baidu.com (BIDU) and Focus Media (FMCN) take some profits off the table. The holders of these stocks should sell half their holdings.
In the next segment, Cramer talked about a defense stock that was booted from the NYSE, but will profit from the new defense budget. The stock is Navistar (NAVZ.PK). Cramer also likes Cummins (CMI) and PACCAR (PCAR) in this sector, but Navistar has a lower multiple.
Next, Cramer had John Dioniso, the CEO of AECOM (ACM) on the phone. Cramer has been recommending the stock, and the company has been delivering profits so far. In his opinion, Cramer thinks Aecom is "money in the bank."
Sudden Death:
Brookfield Asset Management (BAM): "Keep buying!"
Spartan Motors (SPAR): No, buy Navistar (NAVZ.PK) instead.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Sept. 20th

Goldman Sachs (GS): Cramer said they proved today that they're the only broker to own. Goldman Sachs proved itself during a downturn by shorting the mortgage market, Cramer said: "When you're right quarter after quarter after quarter, it isn't luck." They are underestimated by Wall Street, who believes that all brokers are the same, but Cramer says why settle for less when you can have GS for $230? He thinks they will be "dragged" into a higher multiple, but they deserve to sell at $300.
Yum! Brands (YUM): Cramer asked CEO David Novak how they have stayed consistent. Novak pointed out their "global portfolio" including Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut. Their diversity gives them earnings power and tremendous opportunities to expand around the world. Yum! is the No. 1 retail developer in the world, ahead of McDonald's (MCD) and Starbucks (SBUX). Yum! is building one restaurant per day in China and continues to grow elsewhere, Novak said. Cramer asked Novak what he though about YUM being an unhealthy brand. Novak: Out food tastes good and people are looking for taste. Also, their menu's are getting broader and their growth has been exceptional.
Lululemon Lowdown: (LULU)
Cramer: If you are looking for the next Crocs (CROX) or Under Armor (UA), look at LULU. It's a yoga-apparel company who’s stock is up 28% from when Cramer recommended it two months ago. It has growth potential as a woman’s apparel play; 51% of the population. Cramer spoke to lululemon CEO Robert Meers on the show. Meers thinks it's a global opportunity and that people will pay for their quality products and services. He also said they operate well in college towns. Cramer asked about their lack of stores. Meers said their brand "cachet" is very important and that the right thing to do "is be special." Meers also mentioned their 800 number that operates for home delivery.
Sell Block: Cramer was asked why the sudden switch to Wachovia (WB)? Cramer said Wachovia struggled before the rate cut, but it's going to perform better now that interest rates are lower. "Its value will increase" and investors need to change with new events. He added, "It's more important to be consistent with reality than you were before the world changed."
Sudden Death:
Bullish: Nastech (NSTK), Qwest (Q), China Mobile (CHL), Paccar (PCAR) and NVIDIA (NVDA).
Bearish: Qiao Xing (XING) and Acadia (ACAD).

Stocks Trade Flat Ahead of Fed

Stocks pared their losses to trade flat Friday as some investors appeared to view weaker-than-expected economic readings as offering Federal Reserve policymakers further justification for cutting interest rates next week.
Stocks initially fell sharply following a government report that August retail sales excluding automobiles declined. The report suggested consumers held off spending in the face of turmoil in the financial markets, an unwelcome development that some on Wall Street are hoping could be reversed by a rate cut. Fed policy makers meet Tuesday.

Stocks Fall on Earnings

Wall Street pulled back sharply in early trading Tuesday following several disappointing earnings reports and amid renewed concerns about the mortgage lending market. The Dow Jones industrials lost more than 100 points.
Among the many earnings reported before the opening bell, chemical maker DuPont Co. reported flat second-quarter profit as higher sales offset the cost of energy and research. American Express Co. reported late Monday that quarterly profit climbed 12 percent on record card member spending. However, the nation's third-largest credit card brand said cardholders are also shirking more payments.
Both companies are Dow components. In early trading, the Dow fell 101.20, or 0.73 percent, to 13,842.22.
Broader stock indicators declined. The Standard & Poor's 500 index shed 12.26, or 0.80 percent, to 1,529.31. The Nasdaq composite index lost 21.06, or 0.78 percent, trading at 2,669.52.
Bonds rose, with the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note down to 4.94 Tuesday from 4.96 percent late Monday. The dollar traded mixed against other major currencies, while gold prices climbed.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading July 9th

Paccar (NasdaqGS: PCAR - News) and Cummins Engine (NYSE: CMI - News): A Bear Stearns' upgrade of outperform from neutral brought CMI up 11% and PCAR to 6% on Monday. Cramer says these companies have further to rise.
Olin (NYSE: OLN - News) and PPG (NYSE: PPG - News): Acquisitions in the chemicals sector could mean that "cheap" plays OLN and PPG could be bought, according to Cramer.
Brinker (NYSE: EAT - News), Buffalo Wild Wings (NasdaqGS: BWLD - News), Chipotle (NYSE: CMG - News), McDonald's (NYSE: MCD - News) and Yum (NYSE: YUM - News): A Morgan Stanley report which indicates private equity's reluctance to rescue EAT may send restaurant stocks down. Cramer chose a select few worth buying including BWLD, CMG and international plays MCD and YUM.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap May 24

Six More Dow Stocks: International Business Machines (NYSE: IBM - News), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ - News), J.P Morgan Chase (NYSE: JPM - News), McDonald's (NYSE: MCD - News), Merck Co. (NYSE: MRK - News), Microsoft (NasdaqGS: MSFT - News)
Cramer continued his series on Dow Stocks by admitting his target of $110 for IBM was too conservative, and given the company's great dividend and buyback, it should reach $114, but no higher. JNJ is a sell in spite of Warren Buffet's buying the stock. Cramer thinks it is staying at $63, and opines that maybe Warren Buffet liked the steady nature of the band-aid business, but adds "With so many other great names in the Dow, why back up the truck for band-aids?" Cramer called JPM's CEO Jamie Dimond a "great banker," but thinks he is going to be prevented from bringing out the best in JPM by the Fed; "Three more points for JPM, and then I'd declare victory." While MCD has a great international business, Cramer thinks it will peak 4 points from now at $55. Cramer says he was too conservative predicting MRK would go to $50, but at $53, he says the stock is "pretty much done for the year." On the other hand, he admits he was too bullish on MSFT, but is not changing his $35 target, since the company may underpromise and overdeliver.
Google (NasdaqGS: GOOG - News) and Amazon (NasdaqGS: AMZN - News)
Google has been stalled for a while, but Amazon has brought "in the jumper cables," says Cramer. AMZN's move from $39 to $69 makes GOOG look cheap in comparison, especially since Google has 63% sales growth and almost no competition while AMZN has 33% growth with competition from almost every retailer in America. Cramer sets the target for Google at $600, but admits he is being conservative.
Sell Block: CA Inc. (NYSE: CA - News), Analog Devices (NYSE: ADI - News)
Cramer declared a special "Crime and Punishment" edition of this week's Sell Block, inspired by the crime of his "hubris" (overweening pride) last week when he broke his own rule about avoiding tech until August. He now regrets having recommended CA which is down 7.4% since last Friday and ADI which he "missed by a mile."
Mad Mail: MEMC Electronic Materials (NYSE: WFR - News), Taser International Inc. (NasdaqGS: TASR - News), Rowan Companies Inc (NYSE: RDC - News), National Oilwell Varco (NYSE: NOV - News)
When a viewer asked how to play the shortage of polysilicon in Chinese Solar IPOs, Cramer said WFR is the obvious choice, but it missed the quarter and at $58, it's a "no-go." Cramer told another viewer to hold on to Taser, which he recommended ahead of the French election, for at least a few more points. Cramer says RDC has "too much actual drill for me" and says NOV is still "best in show."

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Review

The Nightmare is Over: Boeing (NYSE: BA - News), United Technologies (NYSE: UTX - News), Deere (NYSE: DE - News), Ingersoll-Rand (NYSE: IR - News), Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE: FCX - News), Caterpillar (NYSE: CAT - News)
"The crisis - our short national nightmare - is over!" announced Cramer, reminding viewers of his prediction that the Fed would blink and cut rates. He felt that the removal of the line about "additional firming" from the Fed statement was responsible for the rally in the market on Wednesday and says the final third of the market, comprised of minerals, is hitting bottom. Cramer would aggressively buy cyclical stocks right now and named BA, UTX, DE, IR, FCX and CAT.
Gentlemen Prefer Haynes International (NasdaqGM: HAYN)
Cramer notes Haynes brought a secondary offering to the market, will be able to clean up its balance sheet and start moving. HAYN is a high-performance metals company, and is the cheapest member of the "red hot sizzling club" which includes Titanium Metals and RTI. Haynes is a fresh stock for analysts who are starved for a new name, said Cramer; "The demand for its product is only exceeded by the demand for its stock!"
Sugar-Free Danish: Novo Nordisk (NYSE: NVO - News)
Defensive stocks were performing "fabulously" on Wednesday, and Cramer would keep an eye on drug stocks, but not the American names. Cramer likes Danish company NVO which has 50% of the international market in diabetes treatment. NVO has "some of the best" insulin products, is selling human insulin inexpensively, has patent-protection and is not hampered by competition from generics. Cramer predicts the stock will move from $88.71 to $100.
Shopping for Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT - News) with stocks Sears Holdings (NasdaqGS: SHLD), JC Penney (NYSE: JCP - News), Kohl's (NYSE: KSS - News)
On Tuesday, a University of Texas student made the bullish case for Wal-Mart because of new store design in Plano Texas. Cramer gave his response on Wednesday, and said he is bothered by the fact that Wal-Mart is a stock analysts claim to hate, yet 16 out of 28 still like it. Cramer doesn't see the company remodeling stores aggressively, and while he admits WMT is cheap on a price-to-earnings basis, he can't accept the fact that WMT is so well liked and its stores are boring places to shop. However, he promoted WMT from a triple sell to a "don't buy, don't buy!" and recommended other retail stocks: SHLD, JCP, KSS.

Mad Mail: Google (NasdaqGS: GOOG), Nastech Pharmaceuticals (NasdaqGM: NSTK), Wendy's (NYSE: WEN - News), Tim Horton's (NYSE: THI - News), McDonald's (NYSE: MCD - News), Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG - News)
Concerning Google, Cramer thinks its YouTube acquisition, far from being a sign of overexpansion, was “brilliant" and if it weren't for the Viacom lawsuit, the stock would be sitting at $470 or $480. Cramer would stay with NSTK at $10, noting it is the only company working on autism. When a caller asked about WEN and THI, Cramer suggested selling both and picking up MCD and especially CMG.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Jan. 9

Bullish calls:
Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL - News): 'Even on a little teeny-weeny pullback, because they're my stocks of the year, they're still worth buying.'Disney (NYSE: DIS - News)McDonald's (NYSE: MCD - News)Omniture (NASDAQ: OMTR - News): 'Yes, Piper Jaffrey had the audacity to take a stock, that I think is the future of the internet, and take it to a sell, sell, sell. I'm doing a buy, buy, buy. You cannot look at the web, and know what people are looking at, without OMTR software.'Melco PBL Entertainment (NASDAQ: MPEL - News): 'People are leaving the table. They think Macau is played out ... but I think that MPEL is cheap. I want to buy it. I would play going into another position.'Sears Holdings (NASDAQ: SHLD - News): 'You're talking about heresy, if you're thinking about selling that one. That's my friend, Eddie Lampert, that is running the store there. And I believe that this stock is marking time after a phenomenal run - 35% year over year ... I do not condone selling the stock. Stay long SHLD.'
Bearish calls:
New York Community Bancorp (NYSE: NYB - News): 'It is a good merger candidate... but you can't speculate on a company for a takeover, if the fundamentals are deteriorating ... it is the kind of company that actually does badly when you hear about this thing called the inverted yield, where the interest rates you get on cash are pretty much the same as for what they lend money out ... you have to be able to weather the possibility of a big decline in earnings at NYB ... it's most certainly a 'don't buy, don't buy.'Sirius Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI - News): 'I befriended Mel Karmazen [SIRI's CEO], and I am giving myself 30 lashes right now ... because I cost people. That stock went from $4 to $3.70, because he did not make his projections. Without a takeover, Mel Karmazen is not going to make you a lot of money... Stay away, unless he's going to merge, and you will know when he wants to merge. 'Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR - News): 'People are buying CHTR - they believe the first thing that Time Warner will do is buy CHTR. If they buy CHTR, I can tell you, it will be at this (current) price. I reiterate ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching (i.e., sell).'Conexant Systems (NASDAQ: CNXT - News): 'I am concerned about CNXT's balance sheet, which is why I aggressively recommended sell, sell, sell, slightly higher - actually 80 cents - from here.'U.S Global Investment (NASDAQ: GROW - News): ' It's delivered a 250% return. ...hogs get slaughtered. Let's take a little off the table, and let the rest ride.'
