Jim Cramer's Mad Money Review 10/3

Despite the passage of federal bailout package, Jim Cramer told viewers of his "Mad Money" TV show that he did not trust this market.
He reminded investors to sell into any moments of strength and play defensively as the details of the bailout plan begin to play out.
Cramer then shifted his attention to Wachovia (WB), saying its shareholders have good reason for hope after some nifty behind-the-scene moves by CEO Bob Steel.
Cramer praised Steel for working out a deal with Wells Fargo (WFC).
He admitted he was wrong when he placed Steel on his "Wall of Shame" list of the worst CEOs on Monday. He said he did so because he was disheartened by the federal government's decision to sell Wachovia's assets to Citigroup (C) and the fact that Steel had not come forward to defend his position.
However, after today's announcement of a deal with Wells Fargo, Cramer said he had an entirely different view of Steel.
UPFilling the empty slot in the Wall of Shame, Cramer added Sen. Harry Reid (D., Nev.) for a comment he made Wednesday that a major insurance company was preparing for bankruptcy.
Cramer said that irresponsible comment caused the stocks of Prudential (PRU), MetLife (MET) and Hartford (HIG) to suffer double-digit percentage drops.
Cramer said Reid deserved to be on the Wall of Shame for adding fear to an already fearful market.
Cramer said he's evaluating the industrial stocks by two simple measures: their dividend yield and how much cash they have on the balance sheet. Earlier in the week, he recommended KBR (KBR), a company where two-fifths of its marketcap is cash.
Tonight he recommended two other companies that he says are approaching the "value" threshold. The first on his radar screen is steelmaker Nucor (NUE), with its 3.6% dividend yield. The company was downgraded today by an analyst at Merrill Lynch. With a share price below $30, Cramer said Nucor is solid value stock.
Cramer also recommended Freeport McMoran (FCX), a stock which he owns for his charitable trust, Action Alerts PLUS, as another company close to a value moniker. With a 4.4% dividend yield, Cramer said he's beginning to buy additional shares to reinforce his position for his trust.
Admittedly, Cramer said gold and steel prices continue to fall, but in the case of Freeport, the stock has fallen from a high of $127 to $44 today. With such a decline, Cramer believes the downside has to be minimal going forward.

State of the Stock Market - Catastrophe

State of the market
What is safe?
With all the catastrophic events currently going on in our financial markets a very relevant topic to discuss is where can you put your cash so it is safe. Well, first of all, if you have more than $500,000 cash in any bank, I would be restructuring your wealth. I believe these trying times will create more and more bank failures and I believe the real wave of catastrophe is yet to come. When companies who you believe are too big to fail, become nationalized, cause for extreme concern is much warranted. I would begin to systematically sell your holdings in the stock markets. There is no way there will be any big gains in the market for the next several years. Many economists are saying that we are beginning to hit a bottom, but this is inaccurate. And all of the crap that is going on in Congress is pitiful. How can a political agenda be factored into a bailout plan when our entire credit market in the United States is about to implode. Every politician is so scared of their contributors that they can no longer think for themselves. There is no way to tell how far along into this crisis we truly are. Yes, the mortgage credit crisis has hit somewhat of a bottom, but what if as a result of all these layoffs, and bank failures that are happening in the marketplace unemployment skyrockets? People will be out of jobs. Their first priority will be necessities such as food. Do you know what will be last on the list? Credit Cards. The third wave of the credit crisis will be soon upon us.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading May 28th

Buy Ralph Lauren (RL), Jim Cramer said on CNBC's "Stop Trading!" segment Wednesday.
"I like it because of the J.C. Penney (JCP) tie-in," Cramer said. He said today's move "seems like a bit of a short squeeze," he said, but "I think it can go higher from here."
Elsewhere in apparel, Cramer said that VF Corp. (VFC) "is the analogue of Ralph Lauren. ... If Ralph Lauren's good you don't leave this stock."
Cramer went on to praise management at Eaton (ETN). He said the company is "part of my new-tech world," and predicted it would hit a 52-week high. He said he also likes Emerson (EMR). "These companies are on fire," he said.
Of Nucor (NUE), Cramer said the company's secondary offering is an entry point. He advised more caution on Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF). "Let it cool off before you buy it here," he said.
Cramer was less bullish on AIG (AIG) and Wachovia (WB). "These are serial needers of capital," he said. He said firing AIG CEO Marty Sullivan would cause the stock to go up, and chastised Wachovia for its acquisition of Golden West. "This was one of the dumbest acquisitions ever and they're paying for it," he said.
"If they knew what they owned I would be more comfortable," Cramer said of AIG and Wachovia. "They're like Citigroup (C)." He said that when the companies claim to know what they have, "they're being wishful."

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Mar. 28th

"The banks are going to owe billions and billions of dollars," Cramer said. "There is no explanation for why these banks who made this deal ... are backing away." Cramer said there has not been a material change at Clear Channel. "These banks are going to be on the hook if this deal doesn't go through." He said that Clear Channel has outperformed other radio companies such as Cumulus (CMLS) and CBS Radio.
"Private equity is going to make a fortune," Cramer said. "I think there'll be emails that come out from the bankers [saying] 'Look, we gotta get out of this deal.'" The banks are feeling buyer's remorse, he said, but "there was no way to get out of this contract." He says the banks won't be able to walk away from the deal.
Cramer said he believes that lawyers will be able to show in court that Clear Channel is worth billions of dollars, and the banks will be forced to pay that sum. "Banks are not the most popular and sympathetic defendants," he said.
Moving on to the broader stock market, Cramer decried "raids" by short-sellers. He noted poor stock performance by Washington Mutual (WM) and Wachovia (WB) as examples of short pressure.
Cramer said that if he were a short and were allowed to trade he would use all the firepower he could to take the banks' stock down to levels that would frighten investors, causing further selling. He suggested that the government may reinstate the "uptick rule" that regulates short-selling.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Jan. 28th

InterContinental Exchange's price had risen dramatically since Cramer recommended the stock on "Mad Money," but has since returned to previous levels, Cramer said. Neither stock has responded favorably to today's news that the CME, which operates the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade, is in talks to buy ICE. "What is the ICE doing down?" Cramer asked.
Cramer also believes the economy is not headed for a recession. He named earnings calls from Honeywell (HON), Caterpillar (CAT), Parker Hannifin (PH) and others as signs of the market's health.
Cramer also noted that the KBW Bank Index and the PHLX Housing Sector Index are rallying because of the rate cuts.
In spite of the positive news, Cramer said he believes more action is needed. Given "the losses that we saw for the quarterlies from a Bank of America (BAC) or a Wachovia (WB) ... I genuinely feel that we are too close to the precipice to stop.
"That doesn't mean that a Honeywell isn't doing fine without it," Cramer cautioned. "It's like 1998, when the economy was booming. ... We had to stop the decline [in the financials] ."
Cramer believes the bank woes may remain independent of the broader economy. "The problems are not with IBM (IBM) or Verizon (VZ) ... AT&T (T ) ... Nokia (NOK) ... Microsoft (MSFT)."
Cramer added that the Federal Reserve's 75-basis-point rate cut last week was helpful. "You needed that cut to be able to raise all that money last week." However, the crisis isn't over. "Home price appreciation is nonexistent. ... We saw that number today. ... The oil futures are saying no recession. I think the Fed cuts are needed again."

Jim Cramer's Wall Street Confidential Oct. 20th

Countrywide (CFC), Ambac (ABK), PMI (PMI), MBIA (MBI), Washington Mutual (WM), Bank of America (BAC), Wachovia (WB)
To those who dread a Fed rate cut due to inflation worries, Cramer says oil and grain prices will not be alleviated by a rise in interest rates. "The thing that would knock the market down huge is obviously they don't cut," said Cramer; " … all year people have been focused much more on inflation. It's deflation that I'm worried about."
While raising interest rates may strengthen the dollar's value, Cramer insists this is not so simple; "the dollar is highly correlated to economic growth, not to the price of money."
"I've seen whole economies raise interest rates to be able to defend their currency and fail repeatedly," he said. "Where people want to be is in a country that is controlling its own fate, tends not to have as big a trade deficit as we have and is growing, and our country is not growing, therefore you don't want the currency."
While he does not think CFC, ABK, PMI, MBI and WM can be rescued by the Fed, and those too took mortgages between 2005 and 2007 may be "wiped out" a rate cut may still save those who took mortgages in 2007.
If rates are not cut, "Armageddon is back on the agenda," added Cramer. While Countrywide is currently engaged in a battle for its survival, BAC and WB will report "quarter of quarter of losses," which will cause people to view the crisis "very differently."

Wall Street in Shambles

Major U.S. stock indexes fell nearly 2 percent on Friday after heavy-equipment maker Caterpillar Inc cut its profit forecast and warned the housing slump was spilling over into other parts of the economy.
With investors mindful of the 20th anniversary of the 1987 stock market crash, the Dow and the S&P tumbled as Caterpillar said the U.S. economy will be "near to, or even in, recession" next year.
Caterpillar also said several of the key U.S. industries it serves were already in recession.
The bleak comments from the economic bellwether, whose stock fell 5.4 percent, helped drag down the shares of other big manufacturers, including 3M Co. , and contributed to investors' shift from stocks to the relative safety of U.S. government debt.
A drop in revenue at Schlumberger Ltd , the world's largest oil service company, sent its shares down 10.4 percent. Energy companies such as Exxon Mobil fell, as oil prices retreated from record highs.
"It's been a pretty tough day," said Linda Duessel, market strategist at Federated Investors, in Pittsburgh. "People are saying there could be a recession because Caterpillar gave some cautionary comments."
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 282.80 points, or 2.04 percent, at 13,606.16. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 29.85 points, or 1.94 percent, at 1,510.23. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 53.76 points, or 1.92 percent, at 2,745.55.
Shares of 3M Co fell 7.3 percent to $87.85 on worries about falling profits in the LCD television market. Caterpillar fell 5.6 percent to $73.32. Investors watch large manufacturers like 3M and Caterpillar for clues on the strength of the U.S. economy.
The S&P financial index <.GSPF> was on track for its first weekly drop since the Federal Reserve cut interest rates on Sept. 18 -- a cut that was meant, in part, to allay concerns about the effects of the credit crunch.
Wachovia Corp , the fourth-largest U.S. bank, posted a 10 percent drop in quarterly profit, hurt by $1.3 billion of write-downs at its investment banking unit as credit markets tightened. Wachovia fell 2.8 percent to $46.81 on the New York Stock Exchange.
Exxon Mobil Corp shares dropped 2.3 percent to $92.89 as U.S. crude shed 86 cents to $88.61 after rising to a record $90.07 a barrel overnight. Schlumberger shares dropped 10.4 percent, or $11.62, to $100.00.
The market's decline coincided with the 20th anniversary of "Black Monday," when the Dow industrials fell nearly 23 percent on Oct. 19, 1987.

Jim Cramer's Lightning Round Oct. 18th

Bullish calls:
Wachovia (WB): 'I think WB is one of the most conservatively-managed of the big money center banks right now. The yield is safe.' Research in Motion (RIMM): 'I like RIMM much better [than Palm].' Altria (MO): 'It's going to be two different companies. One is going to be high-growth... The other is going to be domestic. It's going to have a big yield …they are going to announce one of the biggest buybacks in history.' Bidu (BIDU): 'I said that BIDU - you should take out all the money you put in and play with the house's money... I am not willing to have you swap out of Google, to go into BIDU, though... Just too risky.'
Neutral calls:
RBC Bearings (ROLL): 'This is a very plain vanilla company... I'm going to give you one thumb up, just because United … maybe even a don't buy, don't buy. Investools (SWIM): 'They've had hundreds of thousands of people go through their classes. I just wish they had more profits. They've got huge revenues. It doesn't seem to be flowing to the bottom line. I'm not pulling the trigger on that one either.'
Bearish calls:
Palm (PALM): 'I think PALM is really scary, and I don't trust it... And why don't I trust it? It's poorly managed, poorly run.' Macy's (M): 'I did like Terry Lundgren [CEO}... But the guy is beginning to get me nervous and worried … Retail is bad.' IBM (IBM): 'A lot of people felt that the service revenue was okay, but the hardware was bad ...I think you mark time at $115, until the next quarter when they can clear that up...' InvesTools (SWIM)

Steeper Decline in Home Sales Expected

This year's decline in existing home sales will be steeper than previously anticipated, a trade group for real estate agents predicted Wednesday.
The eighth straight downwardly revised forecast from the National Association of Realtors calls for U.S. existing home sales to be 10.8 percent below last year as housing market woes persist. Sales of new homes, meanwhile, are expected to finish 2007 at the lowest level in a decade.
The trade group's outlook for 2007 homes sales has grown more pessimistic through the year as foreclosures soared, credit market troubles developed and sales fell. Back in February, the group forecast an annual decline in existing home sales of only 0.6 percent.
In its October report, the association predicts 5.78 million existing homes will be sold in 2007, down from 6.48 million last year. Last month, the association predicted an 8.6 percent drop from a year ago.
This year's sales would be the lowest since 2002, when sales hit 5.63 million.
Sale prices for existing homes are forecast to drop 1.3 percent to a median of $219,000 this year -- a slight improvement from last month's prediction of a 1.7 percent decline. The median price refers to the point where half sold for more and half for less.
Next year, the trade group expects existing home sales to climb to 6.12 million. That is 2.4 percent lower than last month's prediction.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Oct. 2nd

Wachovia (WB): For those who believe the homebuilding rally "has legs," WB a "steal" with 5.5% yield, said Cramer, and he predicted the stock could rise 5 points. He adds WB is the kind of bank Europeans looking for.
Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOG): Consumers can't get enough of iPod and iPhones which are flying off the shelves. Cramer says fellow tech horseman Google's estimates are too low, and he sees the stock going to $600 from $594.

Jim Cramer's Stop Trading Oct. 2nd

Buy Wachovia (WB), Jim Cramer said Tuesday on CNBC's Stop Trading! segment.
Cramer said the bank stock's 5% dividend yield makes it a "steal" and a play for those who believe the recent rally in homebuilding stocks has legs.
Wachovia is "cheap" and "could go up 5 quick points," Cramer said.
Cramer also likes Apple (AAPL), saying iPhones and iPods are flying off the shelves, and Google (GOOG), where Cramer said earnings estimates are "way too low." Cramer sees Google going to $600 from a recent $594.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lighting Round Sept. 20th

Bullish:
FC Stone Group (FCSX): Buy Buy Buy!
Washington Group (WNG): Cramer wishes it was in his portfolio.
Annaly (NLY): Get in there. Triple buy.
Discovery Holdings (DISCA): $26 too soon to take a profit..take to $30.
Baidu.com (BIDU): Cramer thinks the stock goes to $300.
Radio Shack (RSH): Take to $25 and "ring the register."
Cramer then discussed why he liked Wachovia (WB) lately during the "Sell Block" segment, stating that the banking sector is a good place to be right now due to the interest rate cut.
Bearish:
Actuate (ACTU): "Don't buy!" Cramer would rather you buy BEA Systems (BEAS) if you want to invest in the business software sector.
Motorola (MOT): Cramer likes Nokia (NOK) better.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Sept. 20th

Goldman Sachs (GS): Cramer said they proved today that they're the only broker to own. Goldman Sachs proved itself during a downturn by shorting the mortgage market, Cramer said: "When you're right quarter after quarter after quarter, it isn't luck." They are underestimated by Wall Street, who believes that all brokers are the same, but Cramer says why settle for less when you can have GS for $230? He thinks they will be "dragged" into a higher multiple, but they deserve to sell at $300.
Yum! Brands (YUM): Cramer asked CEO David Novak how they have stayed consistent. Novak pointed out their "global portfolio" including Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut. Their diversity gives them earnings power and tremendous opportunities to expand around the world. Yum! is the No. 1 retail developer in the world, ahead of McDonald's (MCD) and Starbucks (SBUX). Yum! is building one restaurant per day in China and continues to grow elsewhere, Novak said. Cramer asked Novak what he though about YUM being an unhealthy brand. Novak: Out food tastes good and people are looking for taste. Also, their menu's are getting broader and their growth has been exceptional.
Lululemon Lowdown: (LULU)
Cramer: If you are looking for the next Crocs (CROX) or Under Armor (UA), look at LULU. It's a yoga-apparel company who’s stock is up 28% from when Cramer recommended it two months ago. It has growth potential as a woman’s apparel play; 51% of the population. Cramer spoke to lululemon CEO Robert Meers on the show. Meers thinks it's a global opportunity and that people will pay for their quality products and services. He also said they operate well in college towns. Cramer asked about their lack of stores. Meers said their brand "cachet" is very important and that the right thing to do "is be special." Meers also mentioned their 800 number that operates for home delivery.
Sell Block: Cramer was asked why the sudden switch to Wachovia (WB)? Cramer said Wachovia struggled before the rate cut, but it's going to perform better now that interest rates are lower. "Its value will increase" and investors need to change with new events. He added, "It's more important to be consistent with reality than you were before the world changed."
Sudden Death:
Bullish: Nastech (NSTK), Qwest (Q), China Mobile (CHL), Paccar (PCAR) and NVIDIA (NVDA).
Bearish: Qiao Xing (XING) and Acadia (ACAD).

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Sept. 19th

On Wednesday, Cramer said, “For everyone who missed out on the 400-point rally yesterday and today, I have one thing to say: It’s not too late, you've barely missed a thing.” Proof: Cramer said when the Fed realized the extent of its problems back in 1990, it was a great time to get into the market. Since then: Dow Jones up 10,000 points. People shouldn’t pay attention to the “negative Nancies” that have been scared out of the market. Cramer says the rate cut has been great for so many stocks. Including: Kohl’s (KSS), Target (TGT), as well as the banks. Also: Wachovia (WB), Downey Financial (DSL), and FirstFed Financial (FED). Cramer is still in the middle on homebuilders. He wouldn’t touch Lennars (LEN) or KB Homeses (KBH), but wouldn’t short them anymore.
AT&T (T): Cramer spent the next segment telling why AT&T is a good buy. It has a good dividend and has “totally reinvented itself as a growth company” by investing in telco companies. AT&T CFO Rick Linder was welcomed to the show and said the telco industry is resurging. Their wireless data, broadband, and video division are all taking off as well. Their acquisition of Apple’s iPhone has been largely successful, especially since its price drop to $200.
Mad Mail: writer commented on Cisco's (CSCO) recent acquisition of wireless solutions company Cognio and asked if all WiFi companies are headed down the bandwidth road to the extent that Level 3 Communications (LVLT) will soon experience explosive revenue and profit growth.
Am I Diversified? Cramer’s first caller asked if he was diversified with the following five stocks: Apple, Noble (NE), Potash (POT), Research In Motion (RIMM) and Schlumberger (SLB). Cramer pointed out two pairs with Apple and RIMM, and Noble and Schlumberger. Throw out Noble and Apple and add a defense play like Northrop Grumman (NOC) and a financial like Wachovia. Separately, Cramer said he prefers Deere (DE), Monsanto (MON) and Bunge (BG) to Potash.
His second caller named these five picks: Genentech (DNA), Fuel-Tech (FTEK), NightHawk Radiology (NHWK), L-1 Identity Solutions (ID) and US Gold (UXG). Cramer told the caller she had too much of a gambling portfolio with too many speculative stocks like ID, FTEK and UXG. He suggested getting out of those and into less speculative names.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Sept. 18th

Cramer opened saying the Fed "knows something" and retired his "they know nothing button," in response to the Fed lowering interest rates by 0.5%. They also decreased the discount rate by 50 basis points to 5.25%. Cramer also believes there are "three more rate cuts" to come in the future, which will lead the market to recovery. Look for stocks that yield more than treasuries. In terms of stocks, Cramer said, "almost everything works now," and you should consider buying the following stocks:
Wachovia (WB) "should go higher."
Google (GOOG), Cramer believes is going to break out.
Foster Wheeler (FWLT), Deere (DE), Caterpillar (CAT- which Cramer owns for his charitable trust Action Alerts PLUS) should work now as well.
ExxonMobil (XOM) and ConocoPhillips (COP)—should both work for oil.
Bullish Icahn: one of his favorite activist investors is "proven winner" Carl Icahn. Cramer says Icahn's been "extremely bullish" on one big software company: BEA Systems (BEAS). Icahn wants BEAS to sell because they haven't been able to prosper as a stand-alone company. Bottom line: Cramer likes fundamentals of BEAS, takeover is potential, and is a company with "limited downside."
Prescription Plan: Cramer discussed a bill that passed in Congress that will require doctors to use either tamper resistant paper or electronic records. He thinks will benefit Quality Systems (QSII) and All Scripts (MDRX).
Genesis Lease (GLS), CEO John McMahon on the show and Cramer asked him why his company is not doing well, despite the fact that its’ 8.2% yield. McMahon said, “mispricing of the stock.” Cramer recommends buying GLS.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Sept. 14th

Wall of Shame: Citigroup (C), Syntax Brillian (BRLC), Alcatel Lucent (ALU)
Cramer, equal opportunity critic of bad CEOs described three current Wall of Shame chiefs who disgraced themselves even further last week. Cramer owns Citigroup for his charitable trust and has been on a crusade to have CEO Chuck Prince removed, because the bank's management is the worst he has ever seen due to unwise investments. Only their huge deposit base will save them. However, Cramer would hold Citigroup, because he feels it has potential. BRLC dropped 35% last week thanks to chief Vincent Sollito's passing the buck to Asian partners after the company failed to meet earnings expectations, according to Cramer, who added he resents the way Sollito painted a rosy picture of the company when he appeared on Mad Money. Cramer commented on Patricia Russo's remarkable lack of execution as the company's orders shrink amid a telco boom benefiting ALU's competitors. He would sell BRLC and ALU.
Outfoxing the Fed: Coca-Cola (KO), PepsiCo (PEP), Kellogg (K), General Mills (GIS), Wachovia (WB), Goldman Sachs (GS), Morgan Stanley (MS)
Cramer discussed three scenarios: the Fed would not cut rates and create Armageddon, or would introduce a quarter or a half-point cut, either of which will not yield good results. Insisting that the Fed needs to cut rates a full point, Cramer said lesser cuts will lead to hard selling, and it is a good time to look at classic defensive stocks such as KO, PEP, K, and GIS. A half-point cut on Tuesday means it is time to buy solid financial stocks such as WB, MS and GS.
Fantasy Football Stocks: Exxon Mobil (XOM), Medco Health Solutions (MHS) Enterprise Products Partners (EPD), was Research In Motion (RIMM), Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (FCX)
To conclude his fantasy football series, Cramer revealed his team picks on Friday. His quarterback was XOM which, like Peyton Manning of the Colts, is expected to match last year's great performance. MHS is a strong defensive play that could go to $100 and is as dependable as the New England Patriots. With a 6.5% yield and a good combination of safety and defense, EPD was Cramer's pick for tight end, and reminded him of Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys. RIMM is doing fabulously be every metric and could double again. Cramer compared the company's potential growth to that New England Patriot wide receiver Randy Moss. FCX can survive a difficult economy, according to Cramer, and its gold business should do well in China. He picks FCX as his running back, similar to LaDainian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers.
Mad Mail: Caterpillar (CAT), EMC (EMC) and VMware (VMW)
Cramer told one writer that CAT is a good CEEMEA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia) play. Another writer questioned the need to diversify in a tech boom, and said 65% of her portfolio was made up of tech stocks. Cramer reminded her of the dot.com fiasco in the 90s. Finally, a writer asked Cramer why he preferred owning EMC to VMW. He replied that EMC benefits from the success of VMW but is cheaper and safer.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Stock Recap Aug. 16th

Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC - News), Countrywide Financial's (NYSE: CFC - News), Washington Mutual (NYSE: WM - News), Bank of America (NYSE: BAC - News), Wachovia (NYSE: WB - News)
Thursday's dash for financials may indicate the sector will be one of the "long-term beneficiaries" of Bernanke's position, but Cramer does not think they are safe. He tacked a double sell on WM but thought BAC and WB could survive. However, he reserved the lion's share of his praise for WFC, and said, "It is the great speculative play that should prosper." He believes WFC will "own the mortgage market" and will win with investors because it offers a great dividend. Cramer would wait for WFC to drop to the $32 - $34 range.
Sell Block: VMware (NYSE: VMW - News), H&R Block (NYSE: HRB - News), Capital One Financial (NYSE: COF - News), Friedman Billings Ramsey Group (NYSE: FBR - News) Lamson & Sessions (NYSE: LMS - News), Six Flags (NYSE: SIX - News)
Cramer urged investors to "stay the course" and added "no one ever made a dime panicking." However, he added it isn't too late to sell minerals and he feels tigher consumer spending will put pressure on retail. Cramer would sell VMW after its highly successful IPO, and would stay away from HRB, COF and FBR. He would also sell LMS as well as SIX because of low attendance due to the weather. He concluded it is better to invest in long-term stocks rather than quick trades in the current environment.
KKR Financial (NYSE: KFN - News), Thornburg Mortgage (NYSE: TMA - News) and Reynolds American (NYSE: RAI - News)
Not all high dividends are good dividends, Cramer declared and used KFN and TMA as examples. He added high-dividend names KFN and TMA aren't worth the investment because as their stocks fall so will the yields. Cramer likes RAI which has a dividend of 5.5% and is a "smart play" in this environment because "nothing is more defensive than cigarettes."
Mad Mail: Bear Stearns (NYSE: BSC - News), Jones Soda (NasdaqCM: JSDA) and Google (NasdaqGS: GOOG - News)
Cramer would avoid BSC and JSDA whose climb was "how to make a million" in the market. He adds GOOG is safe and likes the tech sector for its pristine balance sheets and great products.
